 Mallika Sherawat was christened Reema Lamba. Sherawat is her motherâ??s maiden name. She was born on the 24th October 1981 in Haryana, India to a conservative family.  She studied at the Miranda House, New Delhi, obtaining a degree in Indian Philosophy. She worked as an air hostess before venturing into movies. She was married to a Jet Airways pilot Captain Karan Singh Gill whom she later divorced.

 Mallika was seen in Surjit Bindrakhiaâ??s music video Lak Tunoo. She also made a brief appearance in Jeena Sirf Merre Liye (2002) as Sonia but that was as Reema Lamba. Mallika Sherawat made her screen debut in 'Lak Tunoo', a music video by Surjit Bindrakhia. Though, it was with Khwahish in 2003 that brought her wide notice. In 2004, Mallika starred in Murder, a film inspired by Hollywood's Unfaithful and her performance in the film earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards.

 Mallika Sherawat recently finished filming her first Hollywood film named Hisss directed by Jennifer Lynch. The film is in Post-production stage. Mallika is now staying in Los Angeles and is now working on her next Hollywood project ‘Love, Barack’.
